get to know jeff collup
Jeff was born early on a cold morning in Willcox, Arizona on January 22, 1975. As an active and rambunctious child, he quickly captured the hearts of all he encountered - especially while being mischievous!
Growing up, he was always one of the more athletic kids, participating in soccer, baseball, wrestling, and of course football.
Jeff loved being a cowboy - roping and riding and dreaming of someday owning a ranch. But alas, he had to figure out how to make a living and so he entered the Border Patrol Academy. Jeff would go on to spend 25 years with the Border Patrol, where he notably trained and led the horse patrol for many years.
Jeff met the love of his life, Kelly, when he least expected it and she ended up changing his life more than he could imagine - he found true happiness. Always wanting to be a dad, he got that opportunity with Lexy and Mia. He loved his three girls something fierce.
Jeff knew how to be a good friend. Matter of fact, he had the same best friend for his entire life - Braulio. Countless others named his as one of their most treasured friendships, and for good reason - he was always there for them when they needed him. When we lost him, his friends and family held a wake that lasted for 10 solid days.
Jeff’s family loved him more than he knew, he was considered a leader in our “Browning” pack and inspired each of us. His sense of humor certainly kept us in stitches during family get-togethers.
Jeff loved southeastern Arizona; he loved his community and always supported it whenever possible. This is why we have created a charity for him, so we can continue his legacy and keep his memories alive.
